Recommended Treatment Option
I recommend an evaluation and probable Needle Aponeurotomy (NA) or needle release (NR) for all cases of symptomatic Dupuytren's contracture. This must be done by a physician familiar with the procedure. A delay in treatment, waiting for persistent, progressive deformity is no longer warranted. The longer joints have been bent before NA, the less chance that NA will get them fully straight. The worse the functional outcome will be. At least 80 - 90% of all cases will be suitable for NA.
